John grew up in Pinner and began playing the piano at a young age. By 1962, he had joined Bluesology, a blues band he played with until 1967. After replying to a request for songwriters in 1967, he met his long-term musical friend Taupin. For two years, they wrote songs for other musicians. And Elton John signed autographs as a session musician. Empty Sky, John’s debut album, was released in 1969. In 1970, he formed the Elton John autograph Band and released “Your Song,” his first hit single, which reached the top ten in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
