Elena Jane Goulding is an English singer and songwriter who was born on December 30, 1986. When she first met the record producers Starsmith and Frankmusik, her career really took off. Jamie Lillywhite then noticed her and hired her as her manager and A&R. Goulding released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, later that year after joining Polydor Records in July 2009.

She was the second artist to win the Critics’ Choice Award at the Brit Awards and place first in the BBC’s annual Sound of… survey in the same year, both in 2010. Her first studio album, Lights, also released in 2010; it debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and has since sold over 850,000 copies in the UK. Moreover, the album was published as Bright Lights in November 2010, and it produced two singles: ‘Lights’. Which peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and a rendition of Elton John autograph ‘Your Song’. Which chosen for the inaugural John Lewis Christmas commercial and peaked at No. 2.

Also released in October 2012 was Goulding’s second studio album, Halcyon. The lead single from the album was “Anything Could Happen.” Moreover, the album began at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and rose to No. 1 after 65 weeks. Halcyon made its US Billboard 200 debut at position No. 9. A repackaged version of Halcyon called Halcyon Days came out in August 2013 and produced singles including “Burn,” which went to No. 1 in the UK. She won the British Female Solo Artist prize at the 2014 Brit Awards.
On November 6, 2015, Goulding released Delirium, her third studio album, featuring the lead track “On My Mind.” Also, for her song “Love Me Like You Do,” nominated for her first Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance in December 2015. Brightest Blue, her fourth studio album, was released on July 17, 2020.
