Nathan Kenneth Patterson (born 16 October 2001) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a right-back for the Scottish Premiership club Rangers Memorabilia and the Scotland national team.

On 21 December 2019, Patterson signed a new Rangers contract, keeping him at the club until 2022. Made his debut on 17 January 2020, in a Scottish Cup match against Stranraer at Ibrox Stadium. He made his league debut against Kilmarnock on 22 August 2020, coming on as a substitute in the 86th minute in a 2–0 win.

Patterson made his European debut on 10 December 2020. Starting in a 2–0 away win against Polish side Lech Poznań. Furthermore, he scored his first goal for the club on 25 February 2021, in a UEFA Europa League match against Royal Antwerp; scoring 16.6 seconds after coming on as a second half substitute. Patterson played regularly for Rangers during the later part of the 2020–21 season, deputising for the injured James Tavernier Autographs, until he was suspended for breaching coronavirus pandemic rules.

Patterson committed to Everton on January 4, 2022, for a five-and-a-half-year contract. Although the transfer fee not publicly disclosed, reported that Everton first paid Rangers £5.5 million. With additional payments perhaps raising the amount to £11 million. Patterson’s Everton career started slowly after signed by manager Rafa Benitez, who was later fired. He initially played for the under-23s rather than the first team. The club continued to have high expectations for Patterson during the whole 2021–2022 Premier League season. He failed to make a single Premier League appearance with the first squad.

The squad wanted to give Patterson time to get used to the pace and hectic nature of the Premier League before giving him a full debut, which is why they only gave him a few opportunities up until April. Due to an ankle injury received in Everton’s final practise. Before playing West Ham on April 3, Patterson was unable to participate from April 10 onward. Patterson underwent surgery for his ankle injury, which prevented him from playing the rest of the season.

Prior to the start of the 2022–23 season, Patterson selected to start each of Everton’s four preseason matches. He was only able to contribute two assists throughout the preseason. Both of which came in the game against Blackpool (Vitaliy Mykolenko’s goal in the sixth minute and Dele Alli’s goal in the 64th minute).

In addition, Patterson has represented Scotland at various youth levels up to under-21s. Additionally, he got added to the full national squad for the first time in May 2021; ahead of the delayed UEFA Euro 2020 tournament. Patterson made his full international debut in a pre-tournament friendly against Luxembourg.
