Before releasing their first album, 1975’s High Voltage, AC/DC went through multiple lineup changes. The Young brothers, singer Bon Scott autographs, drummer Phil Rudd, and bassist Mark Evans formed the core of the band. Cliff Williams, who has appeared on every ACDC Autographs album since 1978’s Powerage, replaced Evans in the band in 1977. Scott died of alcohol poisoning after a night of heavy drinking in February 1980, just seven months after their breakout record Highway to Hell. AC/DC debated disbanding, but at the request of Scott’s family, the members decided to keep the band going, bringing in Geordie vocalist Brian Johnson autographs as Bon’s replacement. Back in Black, the band’s first album with Johnson, released later that year and dedicated to Scott’s memory.
